Fitness Monitors UK
When it comes to heart rate monitors we know a thing or two. We have been selling and advising people on the use of heart rate monitors since 1990. Our company founder, from circa 1987 was one of the first athletes to train with the then new technology of wireless heart rate monitors, consisting of a chest strap transmitter and a rather large watch capable of displaying a continuous heart rate. During the late 1980's and early 1990's these heart rate monitors revolutionised the way athletes trained.
Digital Technology: The technology has now, over some 15 years progressed at an amazing rate to the point where the jewel in the crown of heart rate monitors is probably the Timex Bodylink Plus, which is not only a sophisticated heart rate monitor, but a 100 lap memory based chronogrpah, interval timer, but also a speed, distance and pace tracking device using Global Positioning Satelite technology, furthermore with the addition of a small optional extra called a Timex Data Recorder 2, it is possible to store up to 72 hours of heart rate data, plus location data, speed and distance performance data and download all of this to a PC for further analysis. And because today's technology also integrates with other manufacturers software products the data can be downloaded on to Memory Map's digital Ordnance Survey Mapping Software
The original heart rate monitors it is a fact that the wrist watch part was a little larger than they are today. Today's Timex Bodylink products are both functional training devices, but also cool and stylish perfectly suited to wearing at work or play.
Timex's innovation has also brought the heart rate monitor into the digital age with digital transmission from the transmitter belt to the watch, this has several benfits, not least it virtually completely removes the problems of interference and cross-talk experienced by earlier analogue transmission heart rate monitors, although we continue to sell this older technology to provide backward compatibility with gym based cardiovascular equipment such as treadmills which pick the heart rate signal from the transmitter belt and display on their control consul. You will also find that the heart rate monitors with analogue transmission, Oregon Scientific's HR102 and Timex's T5D521 Personal Heart Rate Monitor are excellent value at budget pricing. But if you are really serious about your fitness training and wish to maximise the effectiveness of the time you have available to devote to your training, take a serious look at the Timex Target Trainer T5F001, for around a £100 this has everything you need and more, but then when you want to step up to Race Pace Training you can merely turn on the speed, distance and pace features, purchase a Timex 3D GPS sensor and you'll have a full Timex BodyLink speed, distance, pace and heart rate monitoring product.
