Blood Pressure Monitors products

High blood pressure is one of the most common illnesses of our times. Every seventh adult is affected by high blood pressure, which can lead to heart disease, strokes and even kidney failure. Blood pressure refers to the force exerted by circulating blood on the walls of blood vessels. In order to detect changing arterial pressure in the arm/wrist, the monitors records, analyse and evaluate the results mathematically. The result is displayed as systolic and diastolic blood pressure levels plus a pulse rate. The systolic pressure is defined as the peak pressure in the arteries, which occurs near the beginning of the cardiac cycle; the diastolic pressure is the lowest pressure (at the resting phase of the cardiac cycle). The average pressure throughout the cardiac cycle is reported as mean arterial pressure; the pulse pressure reflects the difference between the maximum and minimum pressures measured. Typical values for a resting, healthy adult human are approximately 120 mmHg systolic and 80 mmHg diastolic (written as 120/80 mmHg, and spoken as "one twenty over eighty"). Hypertension refers to blood pressure being abnormally high (above 140/90 mmHg), as opposed to hypotension, when it is abnormally low (below 110/70 mmHg). These measures of blood pressure are not static, but undergo natural variations from one heartbeat to another and throughout the day; they also change in response to stress, nutritional factors, drugs, or disease.
